2015-ACP-Dallas

On June 1, 2015, we received an ACP chapter application from Colby Sims of Dallas, Texas. Colby is a pro-life activist who felt the calling to become more involved in exposing the evil of abortion. After getting to know Colby over the next few weeks, we determined he would be a great fit as a chapter director in Dallas and shipped him 8 abortion victim signs and a security camera! We are very excited to have Colby join our team and add Dallas to the ever-growing list of U.S. cities in which the disturbing truth of abortion will be exposed.

ACP Bellingham Exposes Catholic Hospital

Back in February of 2011 pro-lifers in Bellingham, Washington, were alerted to the fact that the parent website for St. Joseph’s Catholic Hospital contained information for deciding whether or not to have an abortion. The website further advised that “If you are thinking about having an abortion, it’s best not to wait.” Upon learning of this discovery, the pro-life activists immediately mailed a letter of complaint to the CEO of PeaceHealth-St. Joseph Medical Center with a print-out of the abortion statement from their website enclosed. A copy of this letter was also forwarded to the Archbishop of Seattle.

A few weeks later a response letter arrived from Ross Fewing, Director of the Center for Mission at St. Joseph Medical Center. In his letter Mr. Fewing said he had forwarded the concern to their System Director of Ethics as well as the System Vice President for Mission Integration. Fewing also said that they had met with Seattle Archbishop Peter Sartain, and stated that they “will be working with the Archbishop to add clarification of the Catholic position to various topics addressed on the site.”

Four years later, in May of 2015, it was learned that the same abortion services information remained on the Catholic hospital’s website. And so, on June 4, 2015, ACP Bellingham decided to take action and expose the truth that abortions are being referred out by St. Joseph’s Catholic Hospital.

Within minutes of displaying abortion victim signs at the entrance to the hospital, the Director of Communications for St. Joseph’s was on scene to discuss with ACP Bellingham volunteers and Chapter Director Bridget Adams the meaning of the display. It proved to be a productive and educational morning for hospital staff and patients — and the abortion referral information has since been taken down from their website.

Planned Parenthood Selling Baby Parts

A “meme” developed by ACP in response to the recent Planned Parentood scandal.

As you by now know, Planned Parenthood was recently caught selling baby parts for profit in an undercover video recorded by a pro-life group called the Center for Medical Progress. In multiple videos senior Planned Parenthood representatives are seen negotiating the sale prices for aborted baby organs which can be extracted during an abortion. Over lunch and a glass of wine, Planned Parenthood’s Senior Director of Medical Research, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, flippantly described the process by which they harvest the organs: “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part. I’m going to basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”

In another video, Dr. Mary Gatter, President of Planned Parenthood’s Medical Director’s Council, is recorded negotiating the sale price: “Let me just figure out what others are getting, and if this is in the ballpark, then it’s fine, if it’s still low, then we can bump it up. I want a Lamborghini [laughing].” Watch the video here:

Immediately following the release of these shocking videos, Twitter and Facebook were abuzz with the revelation. News media outlets also picked up on the story, with numerous segments run by Fox News. Even CNN, The Washington Post, and other left-wing news outfits could not ignore the story. ACP also used the opportunity to spread the message on Facebook by developing a shareable graphic, or “meme”, featuring Dr. Gatter and an aborted baby. The meme was shared almost 200 times and seen by more than 18,000 people.

Brewery Loses Customers After ACP Visit

On May 23, 2015, ACP Houston Chapter Director Jeff Boutte, accompanied by five volunteers, showed up with six “Choice” signs outside Saint Arnold Brewing Company. The following Tuesday, the brewery would be hosting a NARAL sponsored “Men For Choice” fundraiser for abortion. This was not the first abortion fundraiser hosted by the company, and Jeff wanted to raise awareness among its patrons.

ACP Houston displays abortion photos outside Saint Arnold Brewing Company on May 23, 2015.

With abortion photo signs flanking the entrance and a warning about money being raised for abortion at the brewery, Jeff and his volunteers heard from customers who decided to leave and even notify the brewery as to why. We later received a very heartfelt letter from one of these former customers thanking us for our presence there that day. Thanks to ACP, he wrote, “We won’t be back and neither will we be buying St. Arnold beer until the owner apologizes or gives a legitimate explanation as to why he supports the pro-death agenda.”

We praise God for victories like these, and ask that you please remember to keep ACP in your prayers.
